Searchers find crabber’s body

BATH — The body of a missing commercial fisherman was found during a rescue-turned-recovery mission off Ragged Point on the Pamlico River early Tuesday morning.
The body of Wilbur Sawyer, 69, was recovered within 20 yards of where he went overboard around 2 p.m. Monday by volunteers with the Sidney Dive Team, according to John Pack, Beaufort County’s emergency-management coordinator. [Read More]

During a three-day display at Camp Bonner North and Goose Creek State Park, NC C.E.R.T. showed why its certified to help any search-and-rescue mission.
Description
This Exercise is a full scale, search and rescue mission. It will cover all aspects of a real search to include “Command Staff”, Field Search Operations, Communications and Support. You will have the opportunity to work any position or job. All types of resources are welcome and will be deployed in the search exercise if applicable.
