Troutman NC -- NCCERT members participated in the new North Carolina Swiftwater Rescue Technician class held in Troutman, NC. This occured on two full weekends in July and August of 2004 at Troutman Fire Department, and in the water as well. NCCERT would like to thank the Troutman Fire Department for hosting this class.

The end result of this class is that NCCERT now has multiple Swiftwater Rescue Technicians. Although NCCERT won't usually respond directly to swiftwater calls, we do respond during floods and major disasters. In order to keep our people safe, we felt it appropriate to attend this training given that many of our members will see swiftwater at least once during their career.
