I just recieved this message and permission to crosspost in an effort to save these dogs, one of which is a former canine police officer. Please feel free to spread the word if you know someone who may be looking for a potential SAR candidate.

The Wayne Co Shelter has two female dogs they need to get out asap.
They called me to beg for help saving them. One is a 6 yr old German
shepherd, former police dog, spayed, microchipped, and trained. Very
sweet and obedient. Owner turn in so she has NO time!

This shelter is extremely high kill due to space. We are getting a
new one this summer, but in the meantime, the dogs have very little
time. They are rescue friendly and want very badly to save as many as
they can.
